The 2024 Australian Women’s Small Business Awards has officially opened entries for female small business owners across the nation. These awards, now in their third year, aim to celebrate and recognize the achievements of inspiring women in various industries, particularly those in food-related businesses such as fresh food, bakery, café, and hospitality.

With over 65 small business award categories and four individual categories available, including recognition for young entrepreneurs, influential women, and icons in the small business sector, the program provides a diverse platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their success.

The online entry for the 2024 Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards is free and open until 5 pm (AEST) on Wednesday, June 26. Statistics from the Australian Government indicate that female small business owners make up more than one-third of all small businesses, showcasing a growing trend of women entering the business world.

Steve Loe, the Awards Founder, highlighted the increasing empowerment of female entrepreneurs, noting the resilience and drive displayed by Australian women across different industries. He emphasized the need to recognize the accomplishments of women in small businesses and the unique challenges they overcome to achieve success.

A national survey revealed that many small business owners believe it is still challenging for women to succeed in the business world due to various factors, such as gender financing gaps and work-life balance issues. Despite these challenges, female small business operators from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to participate in the Awards program to celebrate their contributions to the economy and local communities.

The finalists of the 2024 Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards will be announced in July, leading up to a National Presentation Evening Gala Event on August 24, 2024, at Sydney’s The Star. To learn more and submit an entry form, visit championawards.com.au/womens.
